Youth Company
An exciting opportunity for students to take their work out of the classroom and into public venues. This highest calibre performing group is an excellent Way for students who welcome the opportunity to showcase their talents with others.
Students who audition should be:
Multi-disciplined: even though their biggest strength may be in one field.
Willing: to attempt all dance forms (and singing if applicable)
Committed: to team effort
Reliable: in their attendance of all rehearsals and performances.
Good Natured: Positive, cheerful, committed and focused.
Independent and responsible: able to look after oneself and ones own costumes, be on time at venues, etc.
Good Grades: able to keep up school grades.

As there is limited spaces available for the Jr. & Sr. Company, not all students who apply may be accepted. After review of the applications and the student's evaluation (audition), the final decision for the company will be made by the entire VDC Faculty. Students who apply must be enrolled with the VDC in at least 3 classes (one being ballet).
An information session for parents and students will be called as soon as all company applications are in. We will at that time review the expectations and commitments for the Company and inform everyone of coming plans for the dance season.
Students will be responsible for the cost of their own costumes and travel expenses. Parents of students in the performing group may be asked to participate in some fundraising events. Funds raised will go towards covering costs of company expenses such as festival entry fees, costumes, travel expenses etc. Students participating will be expected to purchase a Crested Company Jacket.
